This latest music-themed sketch portrait features one of my favourite producers of modern times, the multi-talented Danger Mouse.
I think Danger Mouse first came to my attention as the producer of Gorillaz' 'Demon Dayz' album. There's so much good on that album, great textures and atmosphere throughout. I really loved the work he did with MF DOOM on 'Danger Doom' as well as the work he did with C-Lo Green as 'Gnarls Barkley'. I love both albums, but 'The Odd Couple' has some gems on there that really resonate with me.
Of his later work, two albums really stand out - 'Modern Guilt' by Beck and 'Rome' in collaboration with Daniele Luppi. Both for me are underrated, unappreciated gems that I always go back to for inspiration.
Regarding the drawing itself, I really enjoyed this one, particularly the rendering of his hair! However, whether it is a worthy rendition of this musical genius is for others to decide.
