The music theme continues with my attempt to depict another of my favourite artists and inspirations, Bjork.
I first stumbled upon her as a kid, when she was part of The Sugarcubes and the video for 'Hit' used to get a lot of play. When she was first having solo success I was heavily into hip-hop and soul and not paying much attention to anything else.
I really started to follow her work as a result of a Missy Elliott track I was into at the time, 'Hit Em Wit Da Hee (Remix) which sampled 'Joga' from Bjork's 'Homogenic' album. After unearthing this gem I was hooked and purchased her back catalogue as it was at the time, and have been a fan ever since.
Bjork has done so much interesting and varied work, with not a weak project in sight. That said, my favourite track will always be 'Hyperballad' from her 'Post' album. To my ears an amazing piece of music that never gets old, no matter how many times I listen to it.
As with the others done so far, it is part of a larger composite piece, and I only hope I have done her some justice with my scribblings.
