Below is another in the series of music-related images that will make up part of a larger piece. This time around I took a stab at one of my all-time favourite artist/producers - Pharrell Williams!
I've loved the great majority of the work he's produced. He's done a few questionable things here and there, but in the main his body of work is pretty strong and defines a few eras in modern music.
Right now he seems to be enjoying a renaissance of sorts in terms of mass appeal, with everyone gushing over his 'GIRL' album. I think it's ok, pretty tame really, with 'Gust Of Wind' being the strongest track to my ears. Personally, I think some of his most interesting and underrated work has been as part of N.E.R.D., especially of the 'Fly Or Die' and 'Seeing Sounds' albums. There are some real gems to be found there.
I found drawing Mr. Williams pretty hard, he's all cheekbones and angles. I'm possibly overdoing it with all the lines and hatching, which won't actually be used in the final image, but can't help myself at the moment. I'm relatively pleased with the outcome and now hope I don't mess it up in the later stages.
